Here at The Coffee Pot we serve breakfast all day. I think one of the most ordered menu items is our biscuits and gravy. Recently I had a discussion with Jennie about wanting to advertise them as the best biscuits and gravy in the country. She wouldn’t let me do that, but said we could say they are famous. After our discussion, my brother-in-law was up from Billings and brought his co-worker in our store for breakfast. They both had the famous biscuits and gravy. When they left his co-worker said he was really mad at him. My brother-in-law asked why, and the response was that now he wouldn’t be able to enjoy biscuits and gravy anywhere else!
I also periodically check with our customers who come from all over the country. Among these visitors, there have been some from Arkansas who inform me that they are from biscuits and gravy country – as they order ours for comparison. So far, without exception, they have told me ours are the best.
Marci starts our gravy with raw sausage and the rest is built from there. Once it is cooked to perfection, the gravy is generously poured over our scratch-made biscuits. We aren’t sure if it’s the sauce, the process, the house-made biscuits, or the fact that they are made and served with care that makes them so delicious. Whatever it is, if you haven’t tried them, they sure are a treat. Half an order goes a long way. Come on in for a try and let me know your opinion, as I am always interested in what you think.
