Peppermint Meltaways : Cookies

Ingredients:
½ cup Powdered Sugar
1 cup Butter, Softened
½ tsp Peppermint Extract
1½ cups Flour
½ cups Cornstarch
Directions: Combine sugar, butter, and peppermint extract in a large bowl.  Beat until creamy.  Add flour and cornstarch.  Mix well. Refrigerate until firm.  Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.

Glaze:
1½ cups Powdered Sugar
2 Tbsp. Butter
1-2 tsp Milk
¼ tsp. Peppermint Extract
2-3 drops Red Food Coloring
1 cup Crushed Peppermint Candies or Candy Canes

Directions:
Combine powdered sugar, butter, peppermint extract and enough milk for desired glazing consistency (firm enough to hold shape if applying icing with a pastry piping bag). Stir in food coloring. Decorate with crushed red peppermint candies or candy canes.
